I'm only 15 minutes into the video and I've said "OHHH WOW" about 10 times already because of all the great ideas you've presented! I especially love the idea of having each student in their own breakout room when they read the text! I'm a student teacher in a special ed mild/moderate classroom and for our more advanced readers, we have been using round-robin reading and you are absolutely right about them not paying attention to the text while other students are reading. I will try this during my lessons this week, than you so much!

I have more videos to watch… I am not going to be early today. I am excited to learn more. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Your video was very helpful. Unfortunately, it is the middle of school year and I'm just learning (from your video) how to teach guided reading. I wish to correspond with you. How may I do that?

Thank you so much for sharing your ideas. I use google meet for my guided reading. I love the break-out room idea. If I used google break-out rooms, can the students see the the book if I share my screen of the book?

  15. Love, love, love the idea of the break-out rooms!! Yes, as you mentioned a little more work in the beginning. Setting this up would benefit the children and you in the long term– the teacher would be able to focus and guide child specifically on which strategies/skills needed to be addressed.

It`s been 12 months ever since we started reading this guide. The reading abilities of my girl has consistently developed. Right now, she can read some textbooks. In addition to that, she’s a fantastic speller also. What’s even more appealing is she can easily create sentences at this point. Get this reading guide on Google. The program’s name is Elena Readoρiz

Thank you so much for sharing your guided reading video. It was very helpful. It has been overwhelming trying to train myself. Our district was not ready, neither were the teachers. Myself included. I think teachers are trying to keep it movinging and just train themselves. Much of this is done in our free time. We are getting our books from a-z reading. Where did you get your sight word assessment sheets? Do you provide samples of the reading comprehension, word work sheets to use along with books?

I love your videos and materials, but I'm assuming it's not okay to use these materials in a "for profit" classroom like Outschool or VIPKID right? Do you know of anyone who does allow this? I'd love to get back into teaching reading since it was my jam when I was in the brick and mortar classroom. My foreign students want to read with me online, but I have yet to get a "yes" from anyone to use their materials online like that. Do you have any advice or suggestions for materials I could use safely? Thank you for your help! Lauren

A great application for teaching a child to read by syllables, completely free and contains no advertising. The training is implemented in the form of a game, the main task of which is to collect all the stickers.
Contains 20 basic English lessons, as well as the ability to download or create your own.

I loved your guided reading activities for small groups, I would love to use the guided reading site; however, our district has strict curriculum guidelines of using outside products, but I love the small group activities you suggested to help keep my kids engaged and interactive and to help build up reading skills. Is there a way we can get a blank template of all the activities you suggested within this guided reading lesson?
