Just to be clear, I have been "adopted" by Israeli friends and I am older than them.
They are honest, raw and straight shooters. In a firefight, you want an Israeli partner!

This "distance learning" isn't going to last at all. How are the parents that work in the mornings going to do it? They expect everyone to quit their job? I'm doing the assignments but facetiming allday nope sorry.

Your kids spend more time in school than home that’s why it’s so hard for some parents to stay home with them. Just enjoy them they grow fast and the virus and close schools won’t be forever…

This sentiment is shared with the teachers too, and to all parents and teachers across the world. My teenage kid is supposed to attend her first day in a new school and her orientation day is consisting of parents meeting through zoom. WTH is that.

I’ve watched this at least about 6 times. She cracks me up, tears rolling down my face, laughing till I’m out of breathe. A million WhatsApp messages, and its only the second day, how is he feeling, eating everything in sight and on his phone on day… the best was the music score, bring my clarinet. It’s so funny because it’s true. We all can relate. And I’m a teacher, delivering zoom classes all day, it’s no joke.

Tell us how you really feel lol lol. I laughed so hard about the music score assignment because several months ago my sister was harping like this lady about it. Her first grade kid had a musical score assignment and she knows nothing about this subject, but they did it, with much difficulty, and got all the points for it. She still harped about it afterwards.

It's been two months since this video was uploaded. Millions of kids are still out of school and parents are still going crazy 😜

As an English teacher I am trying to learn how to use PowerPoint to make activity presentations and record them as videos to put them online, but seeing this lady's reaction to home-schooling, I wonder whether I would be causing the students' parents more stress than I would be offering benefit.
It had not occurred to me that my students may find themselves fighting over computer access.
Still, they can always organise their computer time among themselves.
It's not as though all students would rather watch TV or play games all day.
Some of them do want to study / practice something… I hope.

Yes ma'am. I would like to mention though that for some of us, it is equally tough being a teacher right now. We have this fine line to walk of still educating the child, while not overwhelming the parents. We cut expectations in half and some students are bored to death while for others it's too much. We have to figure out if we're even teachers anymore if we do not actually teach. It is very difficult to feel that we are earning our dollar if we cut back to the point that we're not providing any real teaching service. Many of us are breaking our backs to produce helpful videos and show students step-by-step instructions on what to do, provide interactive services online, etc. Yet the videos only get maybe five views. Then students don't do well on the assignments since they did not watch the lesson. 🤷‍♀️

All that aside, your rant is understood. Please just know though that we teachers are only doing our job.

I am a 7th grade teacher and I feel you. I told my school leadership that these kids need afternoon classes they’re NOT getting up early and being focused especially if their parents are working and other children are in the home. I feel you lady. I totally feel you

I agree with her 100%. Right now we are currently paying teachers their full salary to do what? Dump all the work on the parents? It is absolutely ridiculous. Even worse is our money is paying for school administrators who aren't doing anything either. All I can say is if schools are closed in the Fall and we still have to pay for teacher and administrator salaries, there are going to be riots in the streets.

I hate distance learning. I barely understand how to do any of the work I am given. Also it’s pretty damn hard to fill in a chart on a worksheet or draw in a diagram picture thing ON GOOGLE DRIVE or some pdf. How the hell do I do that??
